Description
Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a long-term contract role. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Based in the Broomall, Pennsylvania region, this company offers an engaging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.
Your responsibilities in this role
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Requirements
Sage Timberline Software experience
Comprehensive knowledge of account analysis
Command of union payroll
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Skilled with ERP systems
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
