Description
We are in search of a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in FORT WAYNE, Indiana. The Staff Accountant will be instrumental in handling financial reporting, cash applications, and audit preparation. You will also be tasked with processing fuel transactions, meter readings, and assisting with external and internal customer inquiries.
Responsibilities:
• Handle daily and monthly cash reconciliation and application tasks
• Conduct monthly financial reporting and manage overdue accounts
• Prepare and analyze monthly sales and use tax filings
• Ensure thorough and accurate maintenance of files and documentation in line with company policy and accounting practices
• Take on back-up functions for various positions within the accounting department
• Participate and assist in special projects as assigned
• Communicate effectively with various stakeholders as required
• Prepare necessary work papers for our annual audit.
Requirements
• Possession of a minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Demonstrated experience in performing Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with the General Ledger and Journal Entries
• Ability to handle Month End Close processes
• Experience in Audit tasks within a financial setting
• Prior experience in the Manufacturing industry is beneficial
