Located in the Dallas, Texas area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. In this role, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In this role, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. This is a position you will thrive in, if you have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.
What you get to do every day
Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision Requirements
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Deep understanding of account reconciliation
Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Month end closings experience preferred
Proven knowledge of financial statement preparation
General ledger experience desired
General familiarity with MS Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
Bank Account Reconciliation experience highly desired
Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience preferred
Well-founded grasp of multi set of books
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Skilled with ERP systems
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
