Job Description
Based at the Thermo Fisher Scientific Microbiology Division Basingstoke site and reporting to the Stability Supervisor, the Stability Microbiologist will carry out testing in vitro medical device (IVD) products in accordance with company standard operating procedures. The Stability Microbiologist will have day to day responsibility to review testing data and produce reports for both internal and customer use and contribute to the safe and effective functioning of the Microbiology laboratory. You will be part of a growing Stability & Validation Team within the Quality Function and be encouraged to work alongside colleagues in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering and Regulatory Affairs at Basingstoke and other sites from time to time. The Stability & Validation team has 6 team members who test all products manufactured at Basingstoke, Wesel and Perth. These Products include culture media, Anti-microbial susceptibility tests (AST) and Prepared Media.
Responsibilities:
To perform the following in accordance with regulatory guidelines and company requirements:Testing of IVD medical device products by a variety of techniques, including HPLC.Simulated transport validation and testing of IVD products.To review testing data and produce reports for regulatory, internal and customer use.Coordinate storage of products under the required conditions, ensuring that accurate conditions are maintained throughout the storage period and ensuring that accurate records are kept.To alert the Stability Team Leader of potential deviations to protocol, adhere to the deviation process for the specified product groups and assist with corrective action as required.Assist production associates with quality assurance questions and concerns Create and maintain a safe work environment by engaging the associates in reporting potential safety hazards, support of the EH&S guidelines and continual emphasis on safe work habits and working conditions.To fulfil the responsibilities of the position as defined in the Health, Safety and Environmental policies and associated Codes of Practice. To actively promote Health and Safety awareness of all other employees.
Experience, skills & abilities required:
We're looking for someone who is:
