The Senior Vice President (SVP) of PBM Financial Analytics, Procurement, and Consulting Strategy serves as a member of the PSG senior leadership team. This role serves as an industry thought leader bringing a deep understanding of and passion for the financial and economic aspects of the competitive market for pharmacy benefits management products and services. Leading a team of pricing analysts, financial consultants, and procurement specialists, the SVP of PBM Financial Analytics, and Procurement Strategy drives the strategy, innovation, development, overall execution, and consultative support of PSG’s financial insight products and services designed to empower health plan sponsors to make strategic decisions that support the goals of their pharmacy benefit programs. This role is responsible for driving differentiation and business development support for PSG growth initiatives and providing organizational leadership, mentorship, and development in a direct and matrixed team environment. This role is a highly visible, market-facing role responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining strong, influential relationships with key clients as well as industry partners. This position is responsible for the support and execution of PBM procurements, renewals, and market checks for the PSG client portfolio and for leading strategic facets of PSG’s business, including evaluating and projecting cost trends, addressing complex industry issues, supporting clients’ business strategies, providing industry thought leadership, and ensuring continuous process improvement.
Primary Responsibilities
Serve as a member of the PSG Senior Leadership Team (SLT) Partner with PSG consultants and clients to evaluate and identify cost and utilization trends related to PBM pricing strategies. Participate in client and industry discussions regarding PBM pricing strategies and analyses. Partner with the PSG consulting division to support financial analytics for various cost analyses. Review all components related to financial bids in PBM procurement and renewal projects. Develop, oversee, and quality check processes that support complex pricing models for PBM procurement, renewal, and market check comparative analyses. Negotiate and approve final PBM agreement language across all client types in the PSG portfolio. Establish, develop, and maintain influential relationships with industry partners. Optimize the use and enhancement of existing technology and analytical tools. Provide subject matter expertise for expanding and developing new products, technology, and analytical tools. Assist in business and client development efforts by contributing to PSG’s responses to client requests for proposals for consulting services and supporting finalist presentations. Provide industry thought leadership at industry conferences and for PSG webinars, blogs, and case studies. Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics/informatics, mathematics, economics, finance, or healthcare-related field Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint (advanced knowledge in Excel a plus) Basic understanding of SQL Strong presentation, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and critical thinking skills Excellent attention to detail and quality Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong time-management skills with the discipline to multitask and prioritize projects to meet deadlines. Professionalism in all interactions, including with a diverse group of stakeholders such as executives, managers, clients, and subject matter experts both technical and non-technical. Ability to learn quickly and work creatively, both independently and as a team leader 7+ years of experience and understanding of the PBM industry, specifically pricing and contracts. 7+ years of leadership experience Availability to travel (10%) The national average salary for this role is $230 000 to $270 000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications, and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
