Job Description Primary Function of Position:
Contribute broadly to the Advanced Product Development team, responsible for advanced analytics and new technology development focused on the performance for next generation robotic surgery platforms.
The successful candidate must excel in a high-energy, focused, small-team environment, be able to communicate effectively with engineering and health professionals, and have a commitment to high quality research and product development. A strong sense of shared responsibility and shared reward is required.
Roles and Responsibilities:
As part of the Advanced Product Development team, immediate responsibilities include:
Provide clinical feedback and training to surgical annotation specialists in all areas of surgery that Intuitive Surgical has identified as a strategic interest. Provide feedback in the realm of surgical video annotation and surgical image annotation that takes into consideration the impact that such annotations have on:Objective performance indicatorsSurgical review by operating surgeonsInter-annotator variabilityEfficiency of video and image annotationClinical research questionsReview the accuracy of surgical video annotations created by the annotation teamParticipate in video and image labeling as part of team efforts in data annotationUse custom software to label elements in medical images and videos to support state-of-the-art computer vision efforts.Collaborate with technical teams to support sprints and project-related goalsAssist in optimization of agile annotation assignments and workflowsSupport product development and research teams by assisting with logistics and communicationsManage a team of surgical annotation specialists Qualifications Skill/Job Requirements:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree or higherExperience in the field of surgical data scienceExperience in leading cross-functional projectsStrong understanding of human anatomy and surgical principlesDemonstrate strong interest and ability to learn about and to characterize surgical workflows and anatomy across many surgical specialtiesInterest in research and development/prototype effortsRequired: fluent in EnglishDemonstrate a high degree of professionalism including punctuality and the ability to meet deadlinesDemonstrate good judgment in the characterization of work challenges and when to raise concerns.
