About the team
Our Global Strategy & Planning team is the global strategy arm of our Uber Delivery business and works with leadership to define and act on strategy, provide objective viewpoints and unbiased analyses, recommend and implement actionable business improvements, work to scale standard processes and empower local teams with global knowledge.
Sustainability is an increasing focus for the Delivery business. After launching the program in 2022, we have hired teams in market, defined strategy and long-term targets and ramped up pilots and partnerships. This role, sitting in Global S&P, will report into our Global Delivery Sustainability lead, and focus on key workstreams that will shape our long term strategy. This is a unique opportunity to get in from the start and be part of the team which will manage and grow Delivery's sustainability efforts.
This role will provide a unique opportunity to work across many of our most strategic and innovative projects and to work alongside a range of business leaders from across Operations, Data Science, Product, Policy, Marketing and Business
What You'll Do
Work cross-functionally with Policy, Comms, Investor Relations, Brand Marketing, etc on building our public positioningMaintain operational reporting, projections, and key business metrics to inform the leadership and the entire org of where the business standsConduct data analyses, diagnostics, and deep dives to identify areas of improvement and new opportunities for the business and be proactive about surfacing insights with clear recommendationsWork cross-functionally with Ops, Product and BD teams to define and build scalable global initiatives that can be deployed in marketUnderstand existing and new business risks as it relates to sustainability, including regulatory and competitor risk.Process Improvement: Identify the biggest operational gaps, inefficiencies, and risks using our internal data and deliver solutionsBe knowledgeable about the efforts and pilots being performed by local and central ops, help bridge the knowledge gap across the boardProject Manage the expansion of sustainability efforts globally, working closely with the central team to help other countries launch their own pilots and initiativesRepresent countries that don't yet have local sustainability POCs questions and lite lift asksBuild a global framework for how to tackle sustainability efforts across regionsAt times also support broader team initiatives outside of sustainability

What You'll Need
5+ years proven experience in strategy, business operations, consulting and/or project/program management.Experience in defining solutions to complex, strategic topics with a deeply analytical approach to issuesBalance attention to detail with swift execution - we need to do things quickly, and we need to do them wellSelf-starter - ability to take initiative in a constantly-changing work environment; the ability to self-serve, investigate and get the data we require will make you much more effective in this roleCreative solutions-focused attitudeData Science experience or collaborating with a DS teamUnderstanding of statistics concepts (distribution, confidence intervals, statistical significance, regression model, etc)Prior experience working in a start-up or fast-paced environment is highly desirable.Demonstrated ability to drive end-to-end projects from ideation to implementationExcellent communication and partner management skills, with the ability to effectively present complex data and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.Outstanding Excel and data management skills; SQL proficiency preferredTrack record of driving strategic insights and tying strategy work to specific business goals; experience with competitive strategy a plusStrong stakeholder management and communication skills with exposure to senior partners, cross-functional teams and global teams
