Position Summary
(Hybrid/Remote Eligible for State of Georgia Residents)
Located in the Office of Sponsored Programs, the Sponsored Research Analyst is responsible for providing grants and contracts proposal support for the institution. The Sponsored Research Analyst engages in routine sponsored programs activities inclusive of proposal reviews and proposal submissions.
Responsibilities:
Provides assistance to faculty and staff in preparing standard grant applications and routine proposals for funding agencies and sponsors.
Possess the ability to understand and analyze Request for Proposals (solicitations) and communicates that information to faculty, peers, administrators, staff, and researchers.
Provide thorough review and analysis of applications for external funding in accordance with MSM policies and procedures.
Apply funding agency rules and regulations effectively and accurately.
Interacts with funding agencies, faculty and staff to resolve guideline, grant management, and proposal issues and to determine award status.
Responds to agency, faculty, or staff requests for additional information and/or clarification.
Understand basic requirements of Subrecipient Monitoring, IRB , IACUC , Export Control, and Biosafety
Understand and apply financial principles in OMB circular A-21, Al10, A133 and Uniform Guidance
Use multiple electronic submission systems.
Processes standard agreements and subcontracts with sponsors.
Reviews basic contract terms/conditions and seeks guidance from supervisors or General Counsel, as needed and applicable.
Ensures all compliance and regulatory requirements have been met as required by law, institutional or agency policies.
Maintains required records.
Handles non-financial post-award activities such as obtaining final statements/reports from faculty and forwarding them to the appropriate agency and assisting in transfer of awards for relocating researchers.
Consult with Assistant Director and/or Executive Director on issues related to sponsored programs and seek advice and assistance as needed.
Performs related responsibilities as required.
Minimum Required Skills and Abilities:
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work individually and in a team environment.
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet time-sensitive deadlines.

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.

Must have knowledge of sponsor specific submission systems ( NIH Assist, Fastlane, and Grants.gov)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
Five (5) years of pre-award experience, preferably within an institution of higher education or non-profit.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Research Administrator ( CRA ) or Certified Pre-Award Administrator ( CPRA )

Immunization Requirements
It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
