Responsible for the processing and transactions of payroll activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist Time and Attendance system administrator in identifying opportunities for system improvements, testing, and communication
• Facilitate routine projects including assisting with developing and delivering training and communication as needed
• Ensure the appropriate processing of bi-weekly payroll, deductions and other related adjustments in a timely, accurate manner in adherence to Wage and Hour and tax laws and department standards, including identifying opportunities for improvements and making recommendations
• Provide guidance to lower level staff, including reviewing and auditing payroll processed by team member(s)
• Research, troubleshoot and respond to complex employee payroll questions
• Upload and review payroll reports utilizing payroll and time and attendance system, and make corrections as required
• Train managers and new users on time and attendance system
• Other incidental duties
Education and Experience:
H.S. Diploma or equivalent of previous multi-state payroll processing related experience Required
Bachelor's Degree in related field Preferred
Additional Skills:
• Good computer skills including MS Office Suite and payroll related systems
• Good written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills, including conveying sensitive information
• Good problem-solving skills
• Substantial knowledge and understanding of payroll processing procedures and time attendance system, preferably KRONOS
• Substantial understanding of wage and hour and tax laws and processing garnishments and tax levies
• Ability to complete tasks in resourceful and effective ways
• Strict attention to detail
• Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
• Must be able to work in a team environment, including inter-departmental teams, with minimum supervision
• Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
