Responsible for all activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable application requirements. Conducts program testing, audits, and reviews of data and documentation on new programs and/or program enhancements of large scale. Possesses the ability to think outside the box during test planning and analysis. Conducts various types of testing to ensure the complete quality of application for release. Designs develops, implements, and maintains software test cases and test plans to evaluate software functionality, performance, and defects. Works closely with other associates within the department to complete prioritized assigned tasks in a manner consistent with the company's Mission Statement, Values, and 10 Rules.
What would you do in this role?
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Designs, develops, and implements QA test plans and test cases to ensure proper operation and performance of software applications.
· Ability to provide time estimates on individual tasks as well as the entire project.
· Performs all aspects of validation and verification, integration, including functional, regression, load, system, and user acceptance testing.
· Ensures all explicit and implicit requirements are met during testing.
· Documents test runs and results on every test.
· Logs defects and issues with detailed explanations, recreate them as needed, tracks errors through to resolution, and escalates issues when appropriate. Must be able to identify the level of severity for all defects logged.
· Uses testing tools effectively to assist in project completion, including but not limited to SQL, MYSQL, and Jira.
· Review test plans and test cases to ensure proper testing coverage.
· Ensures continuous improvement of the testing process by analyzing how production problems were missed in testing and correcting in the testing process.
· Quickly identify and escalate risks and issues to leadership; identify solutions to keep projects on track.
· Review and continually improve quality assurance practices, including the creation and update of documentation related to quality assurance processes guidelines
· Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate change and support business needs.
· Assist QA manager in establishing new processes, process improvement, documentation templates, etc. for the QA team.
· May lead test team on medium and large-scale projects, coordinating all test efforts throughout the project.
Qualifications:
Over 6 years of SQA experience on major projects, analyzing, designing, writing, and implementing comprehensive test plans.
Expert knowledge of SQA project involvement, application development life cycle, and methodologies.
Expert knowledge of QA practices, procedures, project lifecycle, and test cycle, including functional, integration, regressing, system testing, and error handling.
Quick learner, able to take ownership of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills and proven ability to communicate technically, both written and verbal
Detail-oriented, highly adaptable to changing needs; able to adjust priorities without diminishing the quality of testing delivery
Advanced knowledge in writing SQL commands
Experience in gathering requirements is a PLUS. This includes functional requirements, use cases, and process flow diagrams.
Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and handle issues in a timely manner.
