This position provides analytical and project management leadership to Accounting and key business partners and will act as one of the points of contact on moderate to high complexity transformational initiatives defined by the management & senior leadership teams. This position is responsible for leading continuous improvement, developing and executing detailed project plans, reporting to Senior Management & the field, and other tasks as assigned.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
With minimal direction, Partner with project customers to solidify initiative scope, timelines, budget, and resources. Assemble and lead project teams through the execution of defined objectives. Create and execute project plans, stakeholder analysis, risk logs, communication plans and other project framework artifacts as defined by CarMax's Project Norms. Review deliverables and prepare for stakeholder and sponsor reviews. Ensure project artifacts are complete, current, and stored appropriately. Work with project team members and other resources to remove project obstacles. Manage day to day project operational aspects with internal and external business partners/stakeholders (stores, home office departments, and vendors), customers and project team members.
With minimal direction, Lead and support continuous improvement. Responsibilities include but not limited to facilitating medium to large cross-functional working sessions, training department associates on implementation and change management best practices, rollout of new concepts and sustainment, and providing business areas with consultative support on medium to large continuous improvement initiatives.

Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the Richmond, VA Technology Innovation Center* and have a Hybrid work arrangement
Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Sponsorship will be considered for this specific role.
Education and/or Experience
CSM, PMP or Six Sigma Green Belt certification (preferred)Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related business degree3-5 years project/process management experienceDemonstrated top-caliber analytic and problem-solving skillsPassion for business and a desire to develop into a strong business leaderComputer skills: SharePoint & Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Outlook, and Word)Ability to communicate in a clear and open manner through verbal, written, and non-verbal methodsAbility to comprehend and apply mathematicsAbility to think logically and use available resources to make good decisions Ability to read and comprehend business reports and analyses
