Our Worldwide Storage Compliance team is looking for a Senior Program Manager to plan and execute large-scale global programs that ensure the safe and compliant storage of Amazon's inventory requiring special controls (hazmat, food, medical devices, etc).
This role requires working with different business owners across organizations to define the strategy, requirements, and timelines as well as lead different cross-functional teams. This position involves regular communication with senior management on roadmaps, program updates, risks, and change management. The person in this role is a subject matter expert in the storage of regulated hazardous materials.
About the hiring group
The WW Storage Compliance Team ensures the Safe and Compliant storage of Amazon's regulated inventory throughout Amazon's global network of fulfillment centers and other operational facilities.
Key job responsibilities
Identify and lead complex regulated storage improvement projects to drive towards a best in class regulated storage compliance program.
Ensure regulatory requirements are met for existing and new products/processes by understanding product attributes to drive intended storage actions.
Provide end-to-end regulated storage compliance project management support and guidance for complex business projects and initiatives.
Work cross functionally with our risk management, real estate, engineering, business and software teams to ensure storage compliance requirements are known and projects are carried out to delivery.
Identify regulatory risks in new products and services and provide guidance for risk mitigations.
Interpret new or changing regulations related to storage compliance, construction codes, segregation of materials, drainage and containment, fire protection, ventilation, and electrical requirements to determine how it applies to business operations.
Support new business initiatives to ensure regulated storage compliance.
Develop and maintain relationships with retail, FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon), Operations, WHS, and fulfillment center partners to capture and remediate concerns.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
8+ years program management experience including cross-team coordination, project management, and communication across multiple stakeholders
Experience driving process improvement with technology in a global role
Preferred Qualifications
B.Engineering / B.Chemistry/ B.Science
MBA, Ph.D or related advanced degree.
Certification and/or experience in dangerous goods or regulated hazardous materials compliance
Familiarity with DOT, ADR, CLP, GHS, IFCC, and NFPA codes/laws
Experience in fire prevention and fire protection design requirements for storage of hazardous materials in warehousing operations
Experience implementing hazardous material storage solutions compliant with NFPA, FM Global, IFC, IBC, and other fire protection and building codes and standards, particularly NFPA30 and NFPA30B.
Familiarity interpreting and applying requirements of global fire and buildings codes, including within Asia, Europe, and the Americas
Experience and ability to dissect chemical attributes of products that are key to determining storage and infrastructure requirements (construction, fire sprinklers, ventilation, electrical ratings, etc.)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
