Description
The ASU Artificial Intelligence Cloud Innovation Center (CIC) is a collaboration between AWS and Arizona State University that helps public sector organizations build and adopt AI solutions. We work with government agencies, education institutions, and nonprofits across the Greater Phoenix Area, the United States, and the world to help solve their mission-related challenges using cloud technology.
The Sr. Program Manager is part of a three-person AWS team that is co-located with ASU staff and student interns on ASU's Skysong campus in Scottsdale, AZ. This role is critical to ensuring efficient and effective operations of the CIC.
Key job responsibilities
Manage a busy and fast-paced calendar of multiple innovation engagements through all phases of our engagement lifecycle (qualification, scoping, ideation, prototyping, build)
Manage and improve our Executive Innovation Visits program that supports peer-to-peer information exchanges with higher education executives (i.e. develop agendas, align speakers, coordinate logistics, etc)
Plan and organize public events that educate and engage public sector organizations on Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning and other cloud technology topics
Track, monitor, and improve the team's ability to deliver its goals.
Support the team's recurring meeting cadence (weekly/monthly/quarterly) and improve tracking, monitoring, and reporting in support of AWS and ASU executives.
Support of AWS' global network of innovation programs that supports public sector customers worldwide.
Additional duties as assigned.
A day in the life
Your day might start with a weekly stand-up meeting between ASU staff, student interns, and AWS personnel. You provide progress updates on five ongoing innovation engagements, including an AI chatbot the team prototyped for a government agency, and recommend a resource re-allocation to accelerate progress on that chatbot. Next, you build the agenda for next month's two-day visit from multiple university executives who are interested in learning more about cloud technology, and AI in particular. Later, you draft a public-facing blog post that references the AI chatbot as well as two other recent solutions that the team prototyped last month.
