Position summary:
Come be part of the innovation we are driving at F5 in the BIG-IP Application Delivery Controller (ADC) product group as a product manager of certifications! Are you passionate about solving customer needs through creative problem solving, technical savvy and critical thinking? As the product manager of certifications, you will play an important role in attaining certifications across our product line. Certifications enable our products to be sold into key markets including federal governments around the world.
We manage the complete product lifecycle from definition and introduction to end-of-life. We work collaboratively, driving strategic alignment within the organization, and to communicate effectively to all audiences. We develop requirements using a balance of future vision, near-term opportunities, customer requirements, discernment, and management of day-to-day product issues. Product Managers at F5 regularly engage with different groups ranging from executives to customers to channels. The position is dynamic, and you will succeed by being comfortable with frequent partnering among technical, business, strategic, marketing and planning colleagues.
This position will:
Work closely with sales management, other product manager, the Certification Architect, and other members of the Certification team as well as across our broader team to contribute to an appropriate certifications strategy and roadmap.Understand and write product requirements for certifications - in coordination with peer product managers when needed.Build a solid technical understanding of the product line to speak fluently with sales, customers, the development teams, and others about certification strategy, roadmap, and implementation.Define overall vision and strategy for ADC, including target customer personas, customer value proposition, and business goals.Design and prioritize user scenarios taking into consideration market trends and customer requirements.Contribute to strategy and product roadmap that delivers on our ADC mission and priorities.Define customer use cases and product requirements with transparency and care.Develop and deliver compelling product positioning with clear competitive differentiation and Return on Investment to Executives, Customers, Partners, and Analysts.Define priorities (e.g., customer expectations vs. engineering realities) to ensure successful product launches on time and with quality by working closely with Engineering, Product Owners, Product Operations, Customer Success, Sales, Marketing, Legal and Finance.Drive usage and adoption of our products with customers.Create dashboards and metrics to monitor product performance based on the pipeline, bookings, customers, and other relevant metrics.Build excitement for the overall F5 product strategy, portfolio and specific products with internal and external partners and customers through excellent communications, client events, and external presentations.
Primary responsibilities:
Accountable for the product and business's success, creating internal visibility and business analysis for business reviews.Define vision and author roadmap for addressing key end-to-end customer scenarios along with the path to achieving those objectives.Deliver differentiated products that delight F5's customers.Possess a strong customer orientation - listen, organize, and champion key initiatives and projects for product development.Evangelize features internally and externally to ensure customers benefit and derive value from the products we build.Collaborate with Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Corporate Marketing, Partners, and Customers, on developing overall go-to-market strategy and plan, including packaging, pricing, positioning and support.Conduct market analyses and financial analyses to advise on product roadmap and prioritize the product backlog.Engage with customers to drive adoption of products and to understand feedback in a timely fashion.
Required skills experience and qualifications:
Experience in certification product management with a record in achieving Common Criteria and FIPS 140 certifications.In-depth knowledge of the Common Criteria and FIPS 140 certifications and compliance requirements.Experience with NIST, NIAP, and NSA publications and requirements.Experience with the DoDIN APL requirements and process.Technical background in network security and cryptography.Exudes "can do" demeanor and passion to make customers and colleagues successful.Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex technology clearly and influence different constituencies.Takes ownership with the natural inclinations to take challenges head on and deliver impact.Demonstrates a bias towards data driven decision making that incorporates analytical, critical and creative thinking.Consistent track record as a product manager building and delivering B2B SaaS products.Ability to straddle across strategy, technical depth and execution in product delivery.
Qualifications
Minimum of bachelor's in business or engineering required. Graduate degree in science, engineering or business is a plus.8+ years' experience in product management with expertise in B2B software/SaaS products.3+ years analyzing products, customers, and market dynamics.Nice to have: Solid understanding of networking, application delivery and application security concepts.

The annual U.S. base pay range for this position is: $153,600.00 - $230,400.00
