The Privacy Analyst will work at the direction of the UnitedHealthcare Privacy Office Leadership Team and assist the entire team with day-to-day management of privacy office affairs. The Privacy Analyst will provide privacy and data security compliance guidance to business areas and will coordinate with various internal departments to assure operational and procedural compliance with state and federal regulations. The Privacy Analyst will also support privacy and security incident and complaint investigations and will be required to manage multiple tasks and work stream simultaneously in a fast-paced, highly matrixed corporate environment.
The Privacy Analyst will be responsible for assisting in the assessment and investigation of reported privacy incidents, support of Privacy Office compliance operations and special projects. Experience working a large complex organization in a legal or regulatory compliance role is desirable. Health care privacy compliance experience preferred, as well as a solid understanding of HIPAA and state privacy and data security rules. Information Technology/Data Security experience desirable either in addition to or in lieu of specific privacy experience.

Primary Responsibilities:
Assist with privacy incidents and investigations
Assist with policy review and development
Assist with privacy awareness training and specific course content development as needed, based on issue/incident experience
Provide research and analysis as needed on privacy and data security matters
Assist the team in advising and counseling on state/federal regulatory requirements in privacy and data security
Collaborate with Optum and UHG privacy offices as well as IT and IRM areas on enterprise-wide objectives

Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in at least one of the following areas:
Health care, legal, compliance, regulatory affairs
Business roles
IT Data Management/IT Security, non-health care privacy compliance
Investigator with experience in either fraud, white collar OR cyber/technology based crimes
Demonstrated communication skills, verbal and written
Demonstrated interpersonal and relationship building skills across business groups internally and outside the organization/regulatory agencies
Preferred Qualifications:
CIPM or CIPP/US
Juris Doctor degree
