The Mission Systems IPT is seeking a highly qualified, mission-oriented Sr. Principal Sensors/Payloads Deputy Lead to help lead a team of payloads engineers. This position will support the program's Mission Systems Director as well as Advanced Development, Production, and Sustainment business areas. This position is located in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities include:Lead the activities of a team (internal and suppliers) to build and integrate sensors into aircraft and ground segment systemsProvide technical oversight and reviews of engineering from internal team and suppliers (potential supplier value >$100M across all contracts)Manage the technical, cost, and schedule performance of the team's deliverablesManage technical and programmatic risks, opportunities, and issuesReport status of all tasks to IPT Director, Program Managers, Chief Engineers, and other managementResearch, design, develop, and test a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment.Basic Qualifications: Bachelors of Science Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 9 years of experience in Engineering; OR a Masters of Science Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 7 years of experience in Engineering; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 4 years of experience in EngineeringActive DoD Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain DoD Top Secret ClearanceExperience leading an engineering team or projectExperience with payload/sensor systems engineering and integrationPreferred Qualifications: Master's degree in STEMSupplier management experienceCost Account Management experienceRisk/Opportunity/Issue management experience related to complex hardware and software subsystemsAdvanced working knowledge of EO/IR, Radar, or SIGINT technical principles, theories, and concepts.Proven success as a technical team lead, solving complex technical issues.Experience executing the engineering project life cycle, including: requirements analysis, design, development, integration, validation, verification, and sustainmentDemonstrated success in leading, collaborating, and developing cross functional teams of varying degrees of skill on complex technical projectsSalary Range: $133,000 - $199,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
