Eaton's Circuit Protection Division (CPD) is currently seeking a Sr. Power Electronics Engineer. This position is located at our Moon Township, PA (Pittsburgh) facility. Relocation and company sponsorship will be provided to candidates currently residing within the US/PR.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $77249.97 - $120000.00 a year.

What you'll do:
Eaton is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer for the Protection, Control and Solutions group of its Electrical Sector. This position is responsible for designing, developing and testing advanced power electronics topologies, its associated electrical systems and subsystems for circuit protection products to be used in both low voltage and medium voltage applications. You will have the opportunity to work with a newly formed Advanced Technology team of dedicated engineers and experience the excitement of bringing new products to life from design concept through to production launch.
Contributes to identification, analyzing, and validation of advanced power electronics topologies in the areas of current switching and fault current interruption.Defines, analyzes, and validates electronic control circuit and power circuits for power electronic circuit protection products.Contribute to the development, design, build, test evaluation and documentation of hybrid and solid state circuit interrupters employing Agile Start project management process.Stays current with the latest power electronics technologies and applies the knowledge to circuit protection applications.Develops product technical requirements by working together with marketing team and identify components for product designs.Creates technical reports and presentations.Collaborates with PCD multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural, and globally distributed teams to achieve the project goals.Collaborates with teams from Corporate Research & Technology, Electrical Sector Center of Excellence, and external technology resources (National Labs and Universities) for technology and product innovation.Generates value added intellectual property.Mentors, assigns tasks and determines priority for project team members as needed.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics or Power Electronics Engineering or Physics from an accredited institutionMinimum 3 years of engineering experience in designing, developing and testing power electronics switching or circuit interrupter products
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in Electrical/Power Electronics Engineering or Physics from an accredited institution Hands-on experience in developing hybrid and solid state circuit interrupter/breakersExperience in designing electronics with thermal and reliabilitySignificant hands-on experience with analog, digital, and power circuits development and testingPCB layout experience and knowledge of PCB assembly process
