Seeking a passionate advocate and leader in developing the partnership, representing Amazon Web Services (AWS) to build with our key Federal System Integrators. The ideal candidate will be the lead for growing the DOD business with our key partner and be able to earn trust at the C-Suite level. As an AWS US Federal Sr. Partner Account Manager, you will have the exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mindshare and adoption of Amazon Web Services with a public sector partner. Your mission will be to develop and drive large engagements that result in sell-through revenue to the DOD with a Public Sector Partner.
In this role, you will establish deep business and technical relationships with AWS Federal partners through your knowledge of the customer's mission and the environment. You will have day-to-day interactions with our partners in support of government agencies. The ideal candidate will possess both a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interact at the executive level, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with software developers and architects. They should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about the mission, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions.
Candidates should also have strong industry experience and demonstrated the ability to think and act strategically on the government customer mission, industry directions, and partner/customer technical challenges.
Key job responsibilities
· Understand and navigate federal contracting vehicles and procedures.
·Understand the technical considerations and certifications specific to the public sector.
· Set a strategic sales plan for your target markets and ensure it's in line with the AWS strategic direction.
· Execute the strategic sales & business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, service teams, legal, support, etc.).
· Identify specific prospects/partners/channels to approach while communicating the specific value proposition for their business and use case.
· Develop and manage the sales pipeline by engaging with prospects, partners, and key customers.
· Work closely with the customer base to ensure they are successful using our services, making sure they have the technical resources required.
· Understand and exploit the use of salesforce.com and other internal Amazon systems.
· Prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to closing new customers.
· Manage complex contract negotiations and work with the legal group.
· Handle a high volume of engagements and the fast pace of the cloud computing market.
· Self-motivated with a great sense of urgency and follow-through.

Basic Qualifications
7+ years of direct sales or business development in software, cloud or SaaS markets selling to C-level executives experience
10+ years of business development, partner development, sales or alliances management experience
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of building profitable partner ecosystems experience
Experience developing detailed go to market plans
Experience communicating results to senior leadership
Experience proactively growing customer relationships within an account while expanding their understanding of the customer's business
Experience in business development, partner development, sales or alliances management
