The Clinical Diagnostics Division, Sr Manager of Sales for Biomarkers role leads the Americas Biomarker commercial efforts for CDD and assuring the team achieves the annual growth goals. Primarily focused on the B• R• A• H• M• S Procalcitonin (PCT) assay, the Clinical Customer Development Team drives test volume through clinical demand and clinical education strategies. This includes leading two colleagues, 14 indirect colleagues, and close collaboration with license partners. This position will also work closely with Medical Affairs and Marketing to develop market and account specific strategies aimed at building awareness and customer adoption of our PCT clinical assay. As Regional Lead, you will support the Biomarkers Business Unit to establish and achieve revenue and profit goals. This role is accountable to an annual operating growth plan as well as specific leading activity metrics. In addition, this role will lead professional and career development for the team and will develop and implement strategies and tactical plans that will assure successful completion of the goals.
What you will do:
Lead the development and implementation of Biomarker strategies and business plans to drive growth in target accounts, identifying areas of short and long-term growth. Work with Business Unit planning teams to forecast trends.Use various market networks such as customers, leaders with vision, and all available channels to assess competitive information, customer needs, and other sources. Use this information for sales strategy, pricing, and reporting to assure we remain innovative and competitive within the market.Lead a process to define, communicate, activate, implement, and lead initiatives that will drive achievement of our goals.Lead collaborative efforts with the license partners, marketing team and Medical Affairs team, on coordination of initiatives with targeted accounts.Build strategic relationships with key customers, (e.g., ICU, ED, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Administration, etc.). Connect with other divisions to assure maximum penetration of our products in the clinical laboratory market. Work with BU Marketing and Product Managers to assure alignment to division goals for new product launches and other Marketing initiatives.Provide market insight and input into commercial tools, programs and processes that can be used broadly across the organization. Lead collaboration with license partners and conduct market analysis and evaluate new business opportunities to create a strong value proposition.Leads our PCT team:
Communicates with individual sales representatives on a regular basis to supervise account pipeline and assure requirements are met. Hire, coach, train, and mentor sales representatives.Works extensively with SFDC (Salesforce.com) CRM to handle customer account base and monitor reps sales performance and productivity.Plan and develops Sales Meetings & calls to implement sales initiatives, trainings, and policies.Works with Sales Operations team to create incentives and sales compensation plans.Assist in annual budget process, financial data gathering and reports, as well as presentations to customers, reps, and leadership.
How you will get here:
B.S./B.A. in business, life sciences or equivalent. MBA is preferred. 6 or more years of sales experience and a minimum of 2 years of direct sales management with success in the medical diagnostics or similar market.Travel as needed. Minimum travel is >50%.Strong analytical skills that coincide with the ability to implement complex selling strategies and plans.Excellent communication skills for group presentations, customer sales presentations, and intercompany written and verbal communications.Proficient with SFDC CRM, Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook.Works independently and does not require constant supervision or direction and can make competent decisions on a consistent basis.Demonstrated experience in working with financial reports, forecasting, and other key data reporting tools.
Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria: Successful sales and sales management experience. History of individual selling success as well as leading a team to success!
Previous experience leading successful sales teams which consistently met or exceeded targets. Assess, attract, retain and develop teams to meet our performance expectations and fill future leadership roles.Ability to travel without limitation.Must be results focused and be able to lead sales teams to achieve our sales and profitability goals.Must possess strong social and relationship-building skills that will instill confidence in employees, management, supplier partners and customers.
