Charles Schwab Investment Management (CSIM) is the asset management arm of the Charles Schwab Corporation. CSIM delivers a wide variety of products including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), money market funds, and separately managed accounts within Schwab Asset Management (SAM). The overall SAM team embodies our firms commitment to providing client-centric solutions that help Schwab clients achieve their financial goals.
The Senior Manager, SAM Product Owner will be an integral change agent in the SAM Operations Department. The role's primary responsibility is to serve as the single point of contact for business and technology partners for their vertical's product ownership responsibilities. In this role, you will collaborate with these teams to create and maintain the vision for your product(s) while demonstrating thought leadership and advocating for best practices. You will drive an effective prioritization process, facilitating conflict resolutions, when necessary, to reach a consensus point of view. You will also support the scrum team(s) by building morale and providing education and context on expected deliverables. The Senior Manager must be highly knowledgeable in all facets of an investment management firm with a dynamic business model, daily investment activity and complex regulatory requirements. SAM is a fast paced, challenging, and rewarding environment so the Senior Manager will intersect with myriad initiatives that could range from product launches, closures, and changes, to regulatory change implementation, to departmental-level process/strategic improvements, and acquisition-related integration.
What you have
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum 10 years of investment management industry experience is required across multiple functions such as performance, security valuation, investment risk, trade operations/settlements, compliance, expense management, tax, financial reporting, accounting/NAV oversight, etc.
5+ years of experience using JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications:
Specific investment management industry experience in one or more of the following areas is desired: performance, investment risk, and/or compliance
Knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology
Strong understanding of databases, data base structure and data flows
Knowledge or interest in building knowledge of SAM information systems
Strong partnership skills combined with a can-do attitude that can collaborate effectively with technology, data and business partners to craft and implement processes, workflows, and controls in a complex, dynamic environment.
A drive to enhance efficiency through exception-driven resolution processes
Proven ability to impact strategy, policy and process development as a technical expert and inspiring leader
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization tailoring messaging for the audience, including leveraging the use of business intelligence tools to convey metrics and project visualizations and impacting strategy
Strong organizational, project management and leadership skills with the ability to set clear goals and drive progress to deliver on time and within budget
Curious learner who desires to understand and seek causes to prevent future problems
Ability to adapt to change and hold the high-level needs of many products, departments, and enterprises in mind

CO Salary Range: USD $101,000 - $224,400 / Year
