  This role will be classified as hybrid and will be filled in either Hartford, CT or Woonsocket, RI

  Position Summary

  This role will lead a controllership team providing accounting support for the Behavioral Health and Aetna Clinical Services teams. The position will play a key role in the review, creation, analysis and reporting of financial information on a GAAP basis to support management decision making, communication to internal or external stakeholders, evaluation of risk and maintenance of accounting and internal control related policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background with experience in managing the monthly close process in a complex organization, being a strategic business partner who can present results to finance, business and executive levels of management and provide coaching and technical direction to direct reports. They will use their prior experience to shape the quality and cadence of reporting, leverage best practices, identify and communicate potential accounting risks and ensure all deadlines are met.

  Job Responsibilities in Clinical and BH Finance

  Set the strategic vision for the accounting team.

  Manage the monthly close process.

  Manage annual GAAP audit for Aetna Clinical Services legal entity.

  Develop an in-depth understanding of the business areas being supported.

  Collaborate with the FP&A teams to ensure proper controls are in place around vendor management, expense accruals and Behavioral Health reporting.

  Define standards and expectations that enable team members to be effective and efficient.

  Required Qualifications

  -8+ years of experience in finance or accounting.

  -3+ years of experience leading a team.

  Preferred Qualifications

  -Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  -Master's Degree

  -CPA

  -Experience with Oracle/SAP general ledger.

  -Experience in expense reporting and different finance processes.

  -Strong accounting background.

  -Presentation skills and strategic messaging.

  -Proactive and planful participation in delivering successful finance projects.

  -Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  -Commitment and takes ownership of tasks.

  Education

  Bachelor's Degree required

  Pay Range

  The typical pay range for this role is:

  $79,200.00 - $170,800.00

  This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
