The Pharma Services Group Sr Manager Events will develop, lead and implement multiple types of events, ensuring optimum delivery on strategic goals and targets across regions. The Sr Manager Events will be responsible for recommending the ideal mix of specific events and event types to deliver on the goals of the group and the business units. They will drive innovation and standard processes collaborating effectively across the company, with corporate resources and diverse solution providers. In alignment with continuous improvement, they will proactively find opportunities and lead development of improved processes and solutions to enable the Pharma Services Group to deliver differentiated customer experiences, high engagement, efficient processes and strong return on investment across all types of events. As a people leader, the Sr Manager Events will recruit, develop, coach and align people resources creating a highly engaged team culture while meeting business needs.
What will you do:
In collaboration with Market Development, recommends the most effective mix of industry events/conferences, site events and hosted events to achieve annual business goals and generate positive return on investment.Creates and communicates global events calendars and schedules to ensure all team members are aware of planned events.Assesses event sponsorship and co-marketing opportunities for potential value vis a vis business goals and makes recommendations to Market Development.Works effectively with third party event organizers, stand builders and other event suppliers to secure optimum value for the business. Recommends contract terms based on industry practices and corporate guidance.Leads, runs and implements key industry events - live and digital - inclusive of logistics, budgeting, contact bring together, reporting, workback calendars, and core team project management.Leads and develops a team of event specialists to ensure cohesive strategy, clear roles/responsibilities, strong planning and best-in-class execution across a global event program.Responsible for team management - including organizational design, job expectations, selection, professional development and retentionCommunicates results and key performance indicators to leadershipEnsures all projects are delivered on time and on budgetLeads virtual event production and provides project management support to ensure timely delivery of go to market strategiesDevelops and implements effective communication plans across diverse partners to support eventsForms effective relationships with influencers and key internal partnersLeads and adheres to annual operating budget. Makes recommendations and builds rationale for annual operating plan (AOP).Ensures strong adherence to expense management practices across the Events teamContinuously builds and communicates process improvement and best-in-class practices, stays up to date with the latest trends and technology, and exemplifies a continuous process improvement mentalityIs a brand ambassador and ensures implementation of the company and the PSG brand standards across initiativesSupports other marketing initiatives as needed
How will you get here:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Management or related field required.Master's degree and/or Events & Meeting Management certificate preferred
Experience
7+ years of work experience in trade show/conference event management and marketing required5 years of people management experienceManagement of events and multi-million dollar budgets across regions, especially outside of North America

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $117,000.00-$175,500.00.
