Sr. Facilities Electrician
Position Description
Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment, systems, and infrastructure to support the facility's operations and maintenance departmental activities in a world-class R&D facility.
We are seeking a high-energy team-oriented individual to provide electrical support to maintenance operations and to assist Facilities, HSE, and IT Services Dept. Managers with implementing the company’s facilities management activities.
The ideal candidate is an experienced electrician with a demonstrated understanding of complex industrial/technical operations. This position manages a preventive maintenance program to ensure all required maintenance is performed on building operating systems. Utilizes Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document and report on equipment performance and life cycle. Utilize data to maximize in-house and contractor labor performance and develop of budget for expense and capital replacement.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Technical leadership for site electrical systems, maintenance, troubleshooting, design, and project management
Communication with internal customers, determining their needs and requirements
Oversight of the requisite electrical maintenance site electrical infrastructure including life cycle replacements, testing and certifications, etc.
Development and implementation of new systems and processes to achieve reduced operating costs and improved process efficiency
Coordination of internal resources and outside contractors for project execution.
Safety – Performs/manages all work in a safe manner according to OSHA and internal guidelines. Is extremely safety conscious and promotes a culture of safety in all aspects of job performance. Enforces safety guidelines and culture with co-workers and outside contractors. Provides disciplinary action if required for outside contractors.
Customer Service – Working with customers, understanding and anticipating their needs. Develops and maintains partnerships with individuals and groups. Required to achieve and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. Keeps customers informed on the progress of work. Able to work in a diverse multicultural environment. Understands and projects the proper attitude for a service organization creating a friendly experience for all customers.
Hours and Coverage – Contribute to 24/7/365 coverage (on call) for all aspects of Facility Group’s responsibilities and emergency situations.
Day to Day Operation/Expectations – Individual must be a Team Player and self-starter/internally motivated. Ability to communicate well both in writing and orally. Ability to negotiate with customers, internal resources, and outside contractors. Ability to work well with a multi-cultural and diverse group. Must maintain and present a positive attitude at all times.
Emergency Work – Addresses emergencies promptly. Assesses the situation, diagnoses issue(s), determines proper corrective action, secures replacement parts/materials, coordinates work, utilizes outside vendors as needed, and performs repairs. Determines impact to site for emergency situations and communicates the situation to site leadership for the duration of the emergency.
Assist in planning, scheduling, and budgeting maintenance projects
Manages, supports, and implements 5S, sustainability, security, safety, and environmental management best practices and procedures applicable to facility projects; renovations and construction projects; contractor and vendor management.
General Facility Work – Performing any other facility-related tasks as deemed necessary by the department manager.
Assists in determining budget estimates for necessary electrical work.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED with 10+ years of diverse electrical design, installation, and troubleshooting experience in a commercial/industrial setting
Continued Education Courses in Electrical Practice and Theory
Experience with code and regulatory requirements
Massachusetts Journeyman Electrical License required
Massachusetts Master Electrical License preferred
