Description
Energy Procurement Operations (EPO) is responsible for managing the operations of the world’s largest corporate renewable PPAs portfolio. We manage Amazon’s portfolio of energy contracts, oversee and optimize its performance with AWS cloud-based tools, ensure compliance with wholesale market regulations, and more.
Our team is looking for an experienced manager to establish a center-of-excellence and lead a global team of managers who work collaboratively with stakeholders across the org to manage, report, analyze and improve our energy contracts.
The right candidate is an experience manager (with direct reports), commercially savvy, experienced in designing or deploying programs, has an analytical skill set, and experience negotiating and managing contracts. Candidate should have a track record in managing energy contracts, including owning relationships with counterparties, bringing issues to resolution, and ensuring the parties live up to their commitments.
Location: Seattle WA or Houston TX.
Key job responsibilities
• Own our portfolio of energy and renewable power purchase agreements.
• Act as a subject matter expert on executed renewable energy agreements, and own the management of the contractual obligations with counterparties.
• Partner with our global Procurement teams, ensuring alignment and in driving issues towards resolution.
• Develop subject-matter market expertise and in-depth understanding of the performance of Amazon’s global energy portfolio.
• Plan and drive execution of initiatives to improve our energy operations. Continuously seek to invent and simplify in order to achieve further scale effect for Amazon’s management of its energy portfolio.
• Define, influence and take part in implement the EPO programs to meet the org’s goals and success metrics.
• Report and analyze performance, identifying impacts to our business units and our customers and formulate plans to address.
• Ensures on-boarding for new contracts with counterparties. Track progress and drive for successful on-time completion.
• Support environmental attributes setup, management, tracking and retirement across the portfolio.
• Work collaboratively with other Amazon teams to support the management of the energy programs.

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of program or project management experience
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
8+ years of experience working in utility/energy industry - asset/contract management, market operations or similar
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
Experience leading contract management and performance teams at utilities and/or energy companies. Including leadership roles in Asset Management and/or Contract Performance Management.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
