POSITION SUMMARY
The Sr. Director, Sales, Americas reports to the Vice President, Global Sales and is a key member of the global commercial team. This role works closely with leadership teams in the BioProduction Group (BPG) and leads the Americas sales organization. The position responsibilities include: development and execution of commercial strategies, exhibiting an in-depth understanding of the market, establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships and working closely with all functions to drive profitable revenue growth and customer satisfaction. This leader will evolve the organizational structure to support the business strategy, develop and manage key business processes and focus the organization on achieving its objectives of driving significant growth.
BPG is comprised of businesses that partner with our customers across the BioProduction workflow: Cell Culture/Cell Therapy, Single Use Technologies, Purification/Pharma Analytics, and Production Chemicals. BPG is responsible for approximately $4B in revenue and 7,300 employees across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
Responsibilities:
Lead region sales organization of over 120 colleagues to include Account Management, Inside Sales, Channel Sales, OEM and Technical Sales (matrix reports) by delivering $1.6B+ annual revenue.Achieve revenue, growth and share gain targets through sales and marketing partnership and execution.Develop and implement a strategy that leads to increased customer value creation and market share gain within the designated geography.Work with Global business leaders to build long term strategies (STRAP) that includes products and workflow solutions to specific customer segments. They must also ensure that strategies define how we approach geographies (mature, emerging), channels and competitors and pricing.Balance the need to achieve current business goals with planning and investment for future growth.Lead and develop the sales teams to build capability and competence with a focus on improving individual selling capability (SFE), broadening the technical competence of the field team and leadership capability of sales managers.Advocates for the customer, for product quality and compliance and provides excellence in customer solutions.Leads the activities of the team, setting goals, developing and accessing activity and sales metrics to meet growing objectives.Engages with local and regional resources to enable realization of Divisional and Group GoalsIn partnership with Commercial Operations, develop pricing policies, including volume discounts and terms and conditions, for high-profile customers and partners.Prepare annual and quarterly budgets and staffing plans for the commercial organization that supports the business' strategic plans.Provide input on market trends and customer feature/product requests for new product development.Develop, implement and share standard methodologies across the region in the core Biotech and Biopharma industry, with the other Groups and Divisions across Thermo Fisher Scientific Key Requirements/QualificationsBachelor's degree (in a Science preferred); MBA preferred.10+ years senior leadership experience in a complex, dynamic, commercial environment operating across the full Americas region.Demonstrated skills in leadership, strategic selling, negotiating, presentation and financial/business.Build collaborative partnerships with functional support areas.Strong leadership with ability to influence, inspire and lead change.Excellent communication skills, verbal and in writingProven ability to deal with difficult problems or issues; an ability to provide a balanced perspective that optimizes the trade-offs between the business financials, the business opportunities, the company strategy, and the external environment.Ability to operate within a matrix structure, prior experience working in large corporate environment or a diversified, complex organization is required.Up to 50% travel required

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Illinois is $177,800.00-$293,400.00.
