ROLE SUMMARY
The Medical Planning & Impact Senior Director is a key member of the Medical Planning and Impact leadership team and is the single point of contact between the MCCDH platform and their respective category/region. They combine Medical Affairs expertise with an understanding of CMAO's priorities to define enterprise strategic imperatives and ensure coordination between categories / regions with the Global Medical Platforms. To this end, the Medical Planning & Impact Senior Director will partner with Medical Planning & Impact Lead to define the enterprise Medical Affairs strategy in how it relates to the planning and delivery of "best-in-class" content, channel utilization and analytics to ensure that a customer centric end product is delivered. The Medical Planning & Impact Senior Director reports to the Medical Planning & Impact Ream Lead and closely collaborates with all MCCDH verticals and an extensive network of cross functional partners including those in categories/countries and the CMO.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Medical Planning and Strategy:
As the single point of contact between the MCCDH platform and their respective categories and region, the role:
strategically informs category decision making through the provision of a deep understanding of customers / customer segments and internal and external insights. Collectively these data enables categories and counties to design the optimum customer journey experience in partnership with the MCCDH platform, unlocking value for the benefit of internal and external stakeholders
works with categories/regions to execute on priorities in the most customer centric way with progress being monitored over time against agreed impact metrics.
Is the coordinating figure around annual content planning for categories and countries - liaising directly with category/country leads and the relevant groups within the MCDDH platform
The role also supports Global categories/regions by co-developing and providing:
Templates, guidelines, and timelines for content planning, prioritization, governance, and project mgmt.
Thought leadership on outcomes-based planning and KPI definition.
Impact analytics & areas for intervention
Monitoring Medical strategy outcomes and impact
The role will also share updates on MCCDH initiatives and will co-ordinate/facilitate wider interactions at a SME level between the platform and categories/regions.
Medical Impact
Through partnership with the Medical Roadmap and Impact monitoring team the role will:
Lead on the co-development of impact metrics and co-ordinate to educate the CMAO organization around KPIs (e.g. their rationale, validity, methodology) to promote buy-in;
Socialize and communicate dashboard use and updates with senior leadership;
Communicate metric results to Categories, MCCDH teams, and leadership, ensuring learnings iteratively inform planning and decision making.

The Medical Planning and Impact Senior Director:
Is recognized internally and externally as a thought leader and applies this to influence the strategic direction of the CMAO/MCCDH team
Leverages an environment of experimentation to influence direction
Leads multifaceted, unique, long-term plans and projects across the CMAO enterprise for the benefit of Categories and Regions
Identifies multiple solutions or innovative options in solving uniquely complex problems with long term effect on the CMAO and potentially on customers
Exercises foresight and judgment in initiating and guiding complex projects in unprecedented situation
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
MBA required + 13+ years pharmaceutical industry experience although does not need to be exclusively within a Medical/scientific function; PharmD/PHD + 8 years experience
Leadership : Comfort with ambiguity, and complex "white space" environments. Ability to embrace and encourage the implementation of innovative ideas and foster a culture of collaboration/teamwork. Demonstrated expertise and capabilities in matrixed, cross-functional leadership, and influencing without authority
Collaboration : Ability to work effectively within and across teams, organizations and the enterprise. Demonstrated ability to take appropriate risks, share responsibilities and credit, celebrate/reward accomplishments, and instill in others a sense of urgency and ownership
Influencing & Communications: Track record of cultivating relationships with internal/external stakeholders. Ability to communicate effectively and display high emotional intelligence during interactions/communications with others. Strong presentation skills suitable for Global Leadership and teams and external audiences
Prioritization : Ability to manage competing priorities and demonstrates ability to prioritize and make decisions to maximize value and resource allocation
Established track record of values and compliance leadership, including across diverse cultures and geographies
Able to review, evaluate, interpret, and present complex data;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including scientific writing skills
Strong work ethic and history of delivering project within stated timelines.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $191,300.00 to $318,800.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
