The Senior Director, Finance Shared Services will lead NetApp's Record-to-Report (General Accounting), Statutory Accounting, COE FP&A, Invoice-to-Pay, Global Payroll, Commissions Finance and Stock Administration teams. In addition to ensuring these teams deliver accurate, consistent, and effective outputs and services across NetApp, this role is responsible for promoting efficiencies and continuous improvement, driving strategic initiatives, and supporting the achievement of corporate goals. An ability to effectively partner with a diverse set of leaders and stakeholders, including those in Human Resources, Tax, Sales Operations, Corporate FP&A, SEC Reporting, and Internal Audit, across multiple geographies, is critical to success. This role reports to the Chief Accounting Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversees the design and delivery (including the accuracy, compliance, timeliness) of key accounting and finance services / activities across the Company, including monthly accounting close activities, global payrolls, commissions calculations / payments, vendor payments, and statutory financial statement filings.
• Sponsors and champions continuous improvement projects focused on process excellence, efficiency and/or cost reduction. Recommends and implements changes to establish best practices.
• Drives or supports strategic initiatives, such as new system and technology implementations, external service provider optimizations, process improvement efforts, and the roll-out of key policy changes.
• Oversight of forecasting support activities provided by COE FP&A team to corporate FP&A teams
• Ensures finance and operational processes and guidelines are updated and aligned with other regulatory requirements and operational excellence goals.
• Contributes to M&A activities related to the onboarding of newly acquired companies, ensuring compliance and establishing the entity set up within the enterprise structure.
• Provides information and responds to inquiries from leadership specific to payroll, commissions, stock administration, expense reimbursement and vendor payments.
• Monitors and improves key performance metrics to measure quality and efficiency of shared services processes and outputs.
• Ensures that structures, responsibilities, and geographical locations of teams align with organization objectives to support responsiveness of team members and appropriate escalation for service issues.
• Manages staff performance and development, including through establishing individual and team goals, coaching and counseling, training, mentoring and career planning.
• Establishes and maintains strong, collaborative relationships with leaders and stakeholders within and outside the CFO organization.
• Keeps up to date with new and changing regulations and legislation impacting 1) payroll design, delivery and reporting, and 2) statutory financial reporting requirements.
• Ensures an overall effective internal control environment including maintenance of SOX documentation
Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
• 10+ years of experience leading large accounting and finance (including payroll) teams
• Substantial experience managing offshore operations and successfully delivering outcomes from a shared service model primarily based overseas (preferably India).
• Knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, payroll (and related tax) regulations, and internal controls concepts, necessary to oversee monthly accounting closes, statutory financial reporting, and global payroll and commissions processing and reporting.
• Knowledge of accounting, payroll management and commissions systems and solutions.
• Experience partnering with IT and other functions to successfully implement new systems
• Proven success in driving finance process improvement, efficiencies, and simplification
• Demonstrated success partnering with stakeholders in a complex, highly matrixed, and global environment.
• Ability to coach and manage talent across large teams to achieve outstanding performance.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization.
• Global mindset with cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity.

The base salary hiring wage range for this position which the Company reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position in the specified geographic areas or locations, is [$270,000] - [$320,000]. Final compensation will be dependent on various factors relevant to the position and candidate such as geographical location, candidate qualifications, certifications, relevant job-related work experience, education, skillset and other relevant business and organizational factors, consistent with applicable law.
