Position summary:
This position will be responsible leading the Spine division's commercial operations, including but not limited to leadership of commercial operations and field operations. This role will partner closely with Sales, Finance and GQO leadership to ensure efficient movement of inventory across the entity, identifying areas for improved efficiency and reduced cost while increasing customer and sales rep experience. Coordinates inbound and outbound logistical operations, including inventory management, warehousing and transportation to ensure sufficient supply of goods and products. Controls the commercial impact of the complete range of activities from receiving, locating and dispatching, sourcing, purchasing and optimizing inventory levels. Administers an effective system that meets the organization's inventory control needs through efficient transportation of component parts and/or finished goods.
Essential duties & responsibilities:
Develop and execute a broad business and/operational strategy across the global spine businessEvaluate current state, identifying deficiencies in controls, processes and procedures. Identify potential solutions and drive implementation.Provide clear leadership and strategic direction for the commercial operations functionIn conjunction with key leaders, identify best practices; define key performance indicators and operational metrics; implements global standards for consistency across the organization while ensuring these indicators are tightly aligned with business objectivesCollaborate and partner effectively with multiple key stakeholders, including but not limited to sales leadership, finance and GQO, to ensure alignment to strategy and approach, and agreement to deliverables and timelines.Manages and leads a team of managers, who in turn manage teams.Drive efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability in the overall area of responsibility, implementing necessary projects and technology to drive to this goal.In partnership with GQO leader, evaluate supply chain end to end to improve efficiencies and reduce cost. Generate data to guide decision as to number/location of hubs, and determine best way to move inventory in field, including best technology to use.Oversee inventory audits. Provide overview of current inventory and provide data-based recommendations on how best to address issues now and in future.Create and implement strategy to address excess and obsolete inventoryEnsure cycle counts are complete. Use data received to provide business with overview of risk and what processes must be implemented to mitigate risk moving forward.Responsible for end-to-end inventory visibility, drive accountability to ensure all inventory movement is systematically captured; lead the hub operations on a day-to-day basis.Will manage a team of 80+ including Director/Sr. Managers.
Education & special trainings:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Qualifications & experience:
10 - 15 years' experience in a business management, finance or operational background.Experience with Orthopedic Implants highly preferredExperience with Field Sales Operations highly preferredLogistics Operations experience supporting commercial divisions preferred.Prefer demonstrated background in healthcare products or medical devicesPrefer experience with solving complex inventory challengesDemonstrated leadership skillsDemonstrated interpersonal and relationship management skillsAbility to work collaboratively and independently in a cross-functional and team-oriented environmentDemonstrated oral and written skills (both in groups and one-on-on interaction)Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to deliver results with multiple and complex projects
