Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a senior-level database administrator to manage Microsoft SQL Server 2012-2019 and PostgreSQL databases. The ideal candidate should have 6-8 years of experience with managing and supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments and 2+ years' experience with PostgreSQL DB. Cloud experience with AWS managing Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL and data warehousing using AWS Redshift. The candidate should be a self-starter, have excellent communication skills, work seamlessly in a team environment, as well as provide leadership and technical training to less proficient employees.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience with AWS - Relational Database Service (RDS) for SQL Server/PostgreSQL, AWS Redshift for Cloud Data Warehousing, and running databases on EC2 instancesInstall, configure, test, monitor, upgrade, and tune new and existing PostgreSQL databases including performance tuning using tools such as pgBadger / pgBenchExtensive experience with SQL 2014-2022 Architecture. Install, configure and maintain MS SQL Server clustered environment including AlwaysOn Availability Groups and Active-Active failover clustering implementations for High availability and DRExtensive Windows PowerShell experience requiredExtensive understanding of Microsoft backup methodologies on-premise and AWS Cloud technologies for backupExcellent communication, presentation, and customer relationship skillsProven leadership skills - previous management or leadership dutiesAbility to work individually with minimal supervisionProven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environmentAutonomous DBA with "Can-do" attitude, pro-active, takes the initiative as well as ownership of problem/project
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
SQL Server performance tuning - experience with analyzing query plans, tuning stored procedures, troubleshooting deadlocks, blocks and long running queries, isolating and resolving I/O bottlenecks and CPU bottlenecksExperience with installing, configuring and supporting SSRS, SSIS and Analysis ServicesExperience with MongoDB and CassandraExperience working with MS Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse environments, in particular PowerBIMulti-Dimensional and Tabular Model development including knowledge of MDX and DAX (SSAS - SQL Server Analysis Services)MS SQL Server and/or AWS Certification
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $122870 - $208890
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
