The Sr Data Governance Analyst will support MIS Tech in establishing and adhering to data governance standards that facilitate delivery of fit for purpose data across applications to business stakeholders. The role will serve as a key contact person between the various business and technical teams and requires a self-motivated individual with a diverse skillset. Skills needed for the job include eliciting data requirements, validating and documenting the requirements, creating data mappings, creating process and data flows, assisting with Data Modeling and providing testing assistance. The role will also regularly work with IT developers, business analysts, data modelers, and Enterprise Data Management resources to ensure that both the business needs and MIS Tech strategic objectives are met.
Key responsibilities for this role include the following:Contributes to data and IT projects as a business-minded analyst, performing full lifecycle analysis including data profiling, requirements gathering and documenting, data mappings, process and data design flows, data quality controls input, and testing assistanceEstablish and maintain a strong understanding of Moody's business processes and data needs of the assigned business project and/or MIS Strategic objectiveWork with leadership and stakeholders to establish Data Domains, Data Ownership and Data Quality metrics.Help establish governance of data feeds from third party vendors to ensure traceability, ownership and compliance in partnership with business, vendor mgmt. and compliance/audit.Partner with Enterprise Data Management to establish standards and capture appropriate metadata in Collibra for all MIS data assets and create process to manage this on an ongoing basis.Provide support as needed on data projects, analyzing data needs and evaluating third party data feeds for usability.Locate and define new process improvement opportunitiesSupport data requests/projects and helps to interpret data setsPerform ad-hoc data/process analysis as neededParticipate in Agile scrum teams and contribute to project planning and work prioritizationQualifications :Bachelor's degree in Technology, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience5+ years of Data Governance Analyst experience (data governance standards, data quality, data mapping, data lineage.)Must have strong experience with CollibraExperience with SQL a must, experience with Data Profiling, Data Reporting tools a plusFinancial Services industry experience a plusExperience working with third party data providers a plus.Knowledge of Python, AWS tools and services, and modern data architecture concepts (such as Microservices Architecture) a plus.Strong experience working in Agile environments, experience with design thinking.Ability to coordinate and assist teams to resolve complex analytical and technical issuesExcellent communication skills, the ability to translate technical concepts to business concepts and vice versaClient focused, proactive, and results orientedProficient in Microsoft Office Suite
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is [[$108,500]] to [[$157,250]] , depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
