Summary:
This role is responsible for performing daily audits assessing the areas of financial clearance, scheduling and completion of imaging exams, billing and denials. This includes maintenance of logs and statistics to measure the effectiveness of the workflows related to these functions. As a Data Coordinator, understands and integrates into the delivery of patient care in regard to their growth and development process. The position actively supports the Hospital’s and Department’s Continuous Quality Improvement and customer service goals, individually and as an effective team member. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and ICARE values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications:
• High school degree.
• 5 years of experience.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, working effectively with a variety of staff and managers required.
• Working knowledge of PCs and databases.
• Good time management, organizational, problem solving and report preparation skills.

Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain the daily audits defined by departmental guidelines, policies and procedures related to obtaining financial clearance for services rendered, information and data relevant to the provision of services across the Diagnostic Services spectrum and auditing of billing and denials.
• Provides oversight to insurance verification and authorization for Imaging procedures in advance of exam performance to minimize denials.
• Work closely with the referring physician’s offices, Central Referral Team, Patient Coordinators, Section Managers, Rush Health contracting, Finance Department and payers in pursuing resolution to variances in workflow and process.
• Design and write monthly reports detailing the findings of the audit process.
• Audits daily billing files. Ensures daily billing file is posted. Corrects rejected charges and ensures they are posted.
• Audits billing files against RIS files and Finance/IS reports to ensure all exams performed are billed.
• Monitor and provide feedback to users of the RIS who contribute to noncompliance.
