Sr Cybersecurity Awareness Specialist
BE PART OF THE CONNECTION TheSr Cybersecurity Awareness Specialistwill support the cybersecurity efforts of the Information Security Team in developing and implementing the Security Awareness and Training program. Employee security awareness and education is an important component to successfully protecting an organization from security events. This position works closely with Information Security leaders and acts as counsel to align security awareness and training needs with overall strategy. The individual will collaborate with Learning Solutions and Internal Communication teams to communicate critical security risks and develop cybersecurity training, awareness and educational campaigns to address these risks. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our organizations cybersecurity efforts while fostering awareness and understanding of the current cybersecurity landscape.
WHAT OUR SR CYBERSECURITY AWARENESS SPECIALISTS ENJOY MOST
Identify the top human risks to our organization and the behaviors we need to change to mitigate those risks
Develop, implement and maintain a security awareness program that effectively engages employees and positively changes behaviors to reduce risk
Work with the HR Learning team to create and maintain the Company’s annual Security Awareness web-based training course content and format
Utilize creativity to educate employees on security-related topics in unique ways
Administer/deliver training and educational materials to Company personnel
Create and maintain security education materials, including new hire training, role based training, compliance training, etc.
Research and stay abreast of trends in security threats and education
Create and manage content for the Security team’s intranet pages
Develop and manage effective communications measures and analytics to assess and improve performance and requirements
Draft internal communications for the Security team and work with Internal Communications team to distribute
Create and maintain standard communications templates and formats that can be used by Security team members
Plan and execute the Company’s annual Security Awareness Month activities for employees
Ensure the security awareness program communicates security policies and standards so that employees know, understand and can follow them
Ensure that the security awareness program meets all industry regulations, standards, and compliance requirements
Manage the company’s simulated phishing program, including communications, initiating phishing tests, monitoring, and reporting results
Effectively manage vendor partners (specifically the simulated phishing program)
Collaborate with security team members and other departments.
Perform other duties as required
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM Required Qualifications
Experience:
Advanced Microsoft Office skills; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Ability to merge data, create pivot tables, deduplicate and graph data for consumable reporting; Tableau data visualization experience a plus
Working knowledge of Adobe Campaign, Photoshop applications or equivalent experience
Working knowledge of programming languages; Java, HTML/CSS and Python
Familiarity with APIs and how they interface to solve for automation
Knowledgeable of company branded style guides and best practices in terms of communicating to an all-employee audience
Understanding of security events, compliance risk and vulnerability management and ability to translate in communications how it applies when dealing with sensitive data or security challenges
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Skills:
Experience in building or operating a security awareness program at a large organization
Individual is a self-starter who understands security risks and how to effectively communicate these risks and mitigation strategies to both the technical and non-technical end user population
Strong organization skills, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills. Experience in public speaking/training
Relationship-building skills; Demonstrated skill in building and managing effective partnerships
Experience in developing security training/educational materials
Demonstrated expertise in overseeing projects to completion
Self-starter and ability to work autonomously, in constant pursuit of continuous improvement
Abilities:
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Understanding of information security and information security risk concepts
Knowledge of current security risk and trends
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute tactically
Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends and recommend improvements
Ability to generate unique and creative ways to educate employees on security awareness
Project management experience, the ability to plan, manage and maintain a complex, organization-wide program
Experience with phishing education programs
Previous experience in supporting highly visible initiatives
Strong business acumen with ability to translate technical concepts for all levels of employees
Background in communications management and/or information security
Travel Ability:
Ability to travel and assist as needed in setting up and facilitating onsite Cybersecurity Awareness and Training events
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Cybersecurity, or related field or equivalent experience
Preferred Related Work Experience Content strategy: contribute to the development of content strategies that support our Information Security Awareness and Training initiatives
Content development, editing and proofreading: Ensure the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of all written and visual content, adhering to established style guides and brand guidelines
Project management experience with application-based gamification training programs related to organizing and overseeing challenges and secure code tournament style training
Experience in organizing onsite and virtual events/competitions, including logistics, promotion, and participant registration, is valuable
