As a Senior Consultant, you'll be responsible for the largest and most sensitive platform relationships. You'll develop and deliver reports addressing needs, changes, issues and competitive information. You'll work with the designated business unit(s) to represent IMG and/or NIA products.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Supports selected business segments within Nationwide Financial regarding investment research and analysis at the investment lineup level.
Provides recommendations of investment options that support the investment strategies.
Provides investment consulting services to plan sponsor decision makers as representatives of either IMG or NIA. These services may include investment policy statement development, investment menu design, underlying fund selection & monitoring, and advice for plans that have signed advisory agreements.
Performs current investment menu analysis, reporting, communication, negotiation and problem solving for retirement plan sponsors and Nationwide Financial constituents. Works closely with Manager Strategies, Product Management and Asset Strategies teams to determine the best investment solution for each business line "case" presented. May manage some of the IMG Account Management staff.
Serves as the key contributor and represents the Platform Consulting team on the internal business unit team and product decision-making process.
Leads business unit(s) to understand product positioning and development, including investments within variable insurance products as well as stand-alone investments (e.g. retail mutual funds, separate accounts, etc.).
Partners with Marketing departments of IMG and internal business unit to position IMG products for success.
Supports sales associates with presentations and data, sharing the benefits of fund options and selection/monitoring process.
Offers new investment products and marketing/sales ideas.
Directs associate management, as required, including performance, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow and organizational planning, hiring and placement, and disciplinary actions.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to IMG Account Management leader.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in business, finance, economics, accounting or a related field. Graduate studies preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: CFA/CFP certification preferred.
Experience: Ten years of related experience in financial services investment management.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Expert knowledge of investment products and distribution strategy. Comprehensive understanding of Nationwide Financial businesses, industry and competitors. Demonstrated skills in relationship management, managing others and communication. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to build and maintain lasting, collaborative relationships with business unit and client. Ability to lead multiple tasks and projects. Ability to translate complex statistical data into information suitable for Management.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.
