Amazon's Global Procurement Operations team tackles business challenges that help internal customers with innovative procurement strategies. We create value in the supply chain, strive for optimization, and act with one global voice and vision. The Category team owns the strategic relationships with suppliers & internal stakeholders. The team identifies & leads strategic sourcing activities to lower overall total cost of ownership for Amazon operations, ensuring equipment & service availability to meet business owner requirements. The team develops & negotiates framework agreements to reduce risk & support local teams in project specific needs relevant to category.
This role in the Global Procurement Organization will have broad responsibility to define the procurement strategy for Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), sourcing vendors and innovative tools and processes to support a large network of Amazon stakeholders across multiple business lines.
This role can be located in Seattle/Bellevue, WA, Nashville, TN, Houston, TX, Arlington, VA
Key job responsibilities
Develop and deliver processes, tools and long term sourcing strategies, lead key initiatives with cross-functional teams; drive the decision making process of the category roadmap with regional senior leadership
Drive commercial relationships with suppliers, with a principal objective of achieving optimal cost and performance
Lead supplier performance management including improving sustainability & social responsibility
Coordinate and collaborate with local teams to deploy and manage the implementation of your defined strategies

Basic Qualifications
7+ years of owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
5+ years of supply chain experience
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
Experience being responsible/leading large and complex negotiations
Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment
Experience in program or project management
Preferred Qualifications
7+ years of purchasing experience
Master's degree, or MBA in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
