We are seeking a Procurement Manager to create world wide strategies for Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) for multiple business units and operation centers. The person in this role will coordinate and partner with leaders and teams across Amazon and lead and interact with our most important professional suppliers to satisfy organizational requirements.
This leader will work with Pre-Construction, Design and Construction, World Wide Real-Estate, and World Wide Design to develop and execute category sourcing strategies, deliver savings/value and improve productivity across the category.
Key job responsibilities
Lead a team of highly experienced Category Professionals in the complex vertical of Construction
Develop, mentor, and coach our top talent to create succession plans for the team
Build relationships with key stakeholders and Customers
Help develop Key Performance Indicators and set goals for the team
Audit the progress of the team to ensure we are meeting customer expectations
Help guide and lead the team to develop long term robust category strategies that deliver bar raising results
Share in celebrating successes and lessons learned for the team
Drive alignment and establish success criteria for common or shared goals around Savings, Supplier Diversity, and Sustainability
Act as a market intelligence provider regarding categories; anticipate strategic opportunities and keep key stakeholders informed
Candidate must be able to travel, up to 10%
A day in the life
You will deliver market leading low-cost, innovative and sustainable equipment/services to help our Operations teams succeed and delight Amazon.com customers with speed, selection and convenience
You will collaborate to seek inputs and manage outputs from our external suppliers as well as internal partners across Design & Operations Engineering, Workplace Health & Safety, Finance and Reliability/Maintenance Engineering
You may have to adapt and sometimes take different roles from strategy development to project management to rapidly meet customer needs
You will focus on deep diving categories to unlock value and help deploy emerging technologies at scale for Operations

Basic Qualifications
Completed Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related
5+ years of experience in a sourcing or supply chain management or equivalent role
2+ years of experience in Microsoft Office tool suite
2+ years of negotiation and supplier relationship experience required
2+ years of people management experience required
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations, Human Resources or related
Lean / Six-Sigma knowledge
Sourcing and Supply-Chain Management experience with New/Emerging Technologies and Supplier Development
2+ years of team leadership experience
2+ years of practiced analytical skills including the ability to distill, synthesize, and draw conclusions on large amounts of data

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
