Overview
QSC is in search of an experienced and self-motivated Senior Buyer/Planner (SBP) who will enhance the enterprise by effectively performing their job duties and meeting the financial benchmarks set by QSC. The SBP's role entails the selection of suppliers and the procurement of all designated materials and services for QSC.
The Sr. Buyer Planner holds the responsibility of choosing suppliers and procuring the necessary quantities of materials and/or services as specified by the Material Requirement Plan, Global Master Planning Team, or New Product Development Projects. This mandate must be fulfilled while achieving the optimal overall cost possible, while adhering to the delivery date and quality standards established by QSC. The emphasis lies on optimizing delivery, quality, and price, with a higher priority than pursuing the absolute lowest price.
Base Pay Range 78,000 - 97,000
The above reflects the pay range that QSC reasonably expects to pay for this role. This pay range also depends on various factors such as job duties and requirements, relevant experience and skills and geographic location. Responsibilities
- Manage all purchase orders to ensure compliance with relevant purchasing policies and practices, including notifying suppliers in writing about any breaches or closures.
- Support the Company's inventory level policy by appropriately scheduling production materials. Collaborate with suppliers to coordinate schedules, preventing stockouts, shortages, and over-supply. The ultimate responsibility for shortage actions, overage actions, and prevention rests with the SBP.
- Act as the intermediary between suppliers and QSC, taking the lead in identifying, preventing, and resolving any issues that could impact cost, quality, or schedule.
- Conduct negotiations and place purchase orders as necessary for designated materials on behalf of QSC. Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery. Responsible for confirming that all suppliers possess the correct document revisions.
- Evaluate, review, and analyze all supplier quotations to make well-informed decisions.
- Fulfill any other assigned duties.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree and/or a minimum of 5-10 years of buyer/planner experience Minimum of 5-10 years of buyer/planner experience Proficiency in ERP systems is required Strong materials management skills and capabilities Self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills Well-developed oral and written communication skills are a must Experience in a materials-intensive, fast-paced, dynamic environment is necessary Organizational skills Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities Understanding of the total cost of ownership Must be a team player and work effectively in a cross-functional team environment Capable of managing a heavy workload with multiple commodities Preferred experience with Oracle 11i or R12 Preferred experience with E2open Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. is required Knowledge of Agile PLM is a plus
