Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze and interpret complex monthly financial results to identify financial issues, for business leaders; provide insights and make recommendations regarding possible course corrections.
• Analyze weekly and monthly trends (e.g., labor, overhead, discretionary spend) in partnership with business leaders to develop/update quarterly forecasts and budgets and provide feedback.
• Draw findings from financial and trend reports, synthesize information, and create presentations for management.
• Partner with leaders to advise on financial impact of recent/proposed process changes.
• Assess system capabilities and process efficiencies, and make recommendations for enhancements and upgrades; manage continuous improvement within scope of responsibility.
• Prepare and process month-end journal entries; prepare balance sheet account reconciliations; calculate, update, and maintain product standard cost in ERP system; gathering data and generating reports in support of trend analysis.
• Prepare annual tax filings.
• Response and resolve questions for tax consultants and auditors in annual statutory filings.
• Assist in compliance activities (e.g., SOX, key and internal controls, fixed asset audits, physical inventory) Analyze ROI (Return on Investment) of expenditures for projects, identify operational implications, and recommend improvements.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in in Accounting or Finance.
• 5 Years years experience previous related cost accounting experience Required or
• Other: accounting, forecasting, planning, or expense analysis experience Preferred and
• Other: Experience working in a subsidiary area within an international company; preferably in the United States
Additional Skills:
• Proven expertise in MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel and related financial systems; ERP (e.g., JDE, Oracle, SP) experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including consultative and relationship management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and investigative skills.
• Substantial knowledge and understanding of Edwards policies, procedures, and guidelines relevant to accounting.
• Good understanding of cost accounting processes.
• Substantial understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
• Substantial knowledge of financial concepts and principles.
• Expertise in own functional area and ability to coach others in various functional areas impacted within the business.
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
• Strict attention to detail.
• Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work and perform within a metrics organization and with OUS Plants.
