You will apply your actuarial expertise to conduct and present analytics on several fronts. Key projects include measuring the performance of value-based / shared savings arrangements, internal forecasting / budgeting, and demonstrating the Landmark value proposition for current and prospective patients and business partners.
This position will be part the Landmark actuarial team, a division of Optum Home and Community.

Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain, enhance, and execute shared savings models: extracting, summarizing and validating data; setting assumptions; and assessing the reasonability of results Partner with the Data Science team to demonstrate value from the Landmark Program by supporting revenue / risk score and healthcare utilization trend reporting and financial savings estimates Work with other finance teams to monitor performance against forecasts, analyzing and explaining drivers of variances Communicate actuarial concepts to other internal teams Support the business intelligence team with optimizing data quality for new clients

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (actuarial science or economics) Completion of at least 2 actuarial exams 1+ years of actuarial experience within a healthcare and/or managed care organization 1+ years of programming experience in SAS and/or SQL Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Medicare and/or value-based contracting Proven solid technical, problem-solving, organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal) Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
