Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the Chemicals Manufacturing industry. The position is located in East Rutherford, New Jersey. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be part of our team, contributing to the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy in accounting and financial reporting, and providing support in various accounting functions.
Responsibilities
• Handle the preparation and posting of monthly journal entries
• Conduct comprehensive account analysis and reconciliations
• Assist in managing both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Participate in the monthly close process, including producing month-end reports and performing month-end close activities
• Efficiently conduct bank and cash reconciliations
• Utilize MS Excel to manage, analyze, and present data
• Play a role in inventory and cost accounting
• Ensure the accuracy and efficiency of all accounting processes. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant, preferably in the Chemicals Manufacturing industry.
• Proficient in carrying out Month End Close and Month-end Close Activities.
• Experience in preparing Month-end Reports and Month-end Journal Entries.
• Demonstrated ability in performing Bank Reconciliations and Cash Reconciliations.
• Knowledge of creating and managing Journal Entries.
• Proficiency in using MS Excel for financial data analysis and reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with accounting software and systems.
• Must have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make well-judged decisions.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and legislation.
• Possess effective time management and organizational skills.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferable.
