Your responsibilities in this role
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Manage monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP
Review financial results (benchmarks, trends, performance metrics)
Put together Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Achieve compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures and controls by working with business partners
Coordinate quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Continually improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Other projects as necessary Requirements - Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
1+ years of overall general accounting experience
Well-founded grasp of non-profit fund accounting
Audited Financial Statements experience preferred
Previous experience working with Policies And Procedure
Earlier work involving financial reconciliation
General familiarity with government regulation
Wide ranging experience with Government Rules
Government agencies & programs experience highly desired
Practical knowledge of Government Relations
Quality experience with Government Programs
Good understanding of policies & procedures
Deep understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Accounts Payable (AP) experience
Proven knowledge of fund accounting
Microsoft Excel experience desired
Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
ERP system experience
Demonstrated skills in interacting effectively, both verbally and in writing, with functional managers
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are highly desired
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports
Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
