The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing complex accounting needs for their employer. Their duties include assuming a leadership role to guide accounting personnel in daily tasks, reviewing financial data to make forecasting decisions and communicating with company Executives about financial strategies.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibility is to prepare financial statement and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule
Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures
Analyze revenues, commissions, payroll, and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately monthly
Prepare monthly account reconciliations
Analyze financial statements monthly and report on variances
Responsible for financial and tax audits
Assist with preparing tax returns and corporate reporting requirements
Facilitate documentation and monitoring of internal controls
Other projects as assigned

Requirements
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
Strong understanding of accounting theory
3+ years accounting / finance experience
Experience in manufacturing environment
Experience with production accounting
Ability to meet assigned deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
Proficient with Microsoft office applications
Working knowledge of Great Plains preferred but not required
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.

Confidential, understands the ethical standards of a CPA
Ability to handle payroll including the mental conflicts that are associated with this responsibility
Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product
Accountable for specific performance
Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner
Able to handle multiple tasks and maintain control and order over same
Good GAAP and financial reporting technical skills
Exceptional work ethic
