Are you a dynamic and passionate individual with a flair for sports journalism?
Reuters is looking for an outstanding Sports Correspondent to join our team in Paris as the world's eyes will land on France when it hosts the 2024 Olympic Games.
We are looking for a reporter who is a team player and self-starter with plenty of initiative to generate story ideas and provide exclusive coverage and scoops. They will have a good understanding of the sports news agenda in the France region in its widest sense.
We want a journalist who has excellent communication skills and an unflappable temperament. They must be able to work closely in a team with visuals colleagues and reporters.
Fluent French is necessary to allow the successful candidates to work independently.

Research, report, and write captivating sports news stories for a global audience.Identify and explore crossover topics, connecting the world of sports with broader themes such as business, politics, and culture.Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure accurate and timely coverage of sports events.Contribute innovative ideas to enhance the overall quality and breadth of sports news coverage.Work closely with visuals colleagues
About You
You're a fit for the role of Sports Reporter if your background includes:
2-5 years of proven experience in sports journalism, demonstrating a strong portfolio of engaging and informative articles.Native French and excellent command of English (essential). The ability to convey complex sports stories accurately and effectively is crucial.A keen appetite for crossover stories, including sports business, sports politics, and other related topics. The ability to connect sports with broader societal issues is highly valued.Ability to write with speed and accuracy, delivering compelling and insightful sports news stories on tight deadlines.A flexible and eager-to-learn mindset, willing to explore new angles and adapt to evolving news trends.Willingness to travel on assignment at a very short notice
