OnsiteThis position is for a split shift/2nd shift Manufacturing Electrical Engineer at our Cedar Rapids Mission Systems manufacturing location. The position will support manufacturing test and other manufacturing aspects. You will be tasked with evaluating and solving everyday manufacturing test problems related to design, process, and supplier issues.We are looking for a driven self-starter who enjoys working with people and creatively solving problems. Must be motivated to learn at a fast pace, work autonomously, and within a diverse team environment. Candidate must also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and understand the importance of remaining compassionate and empathetic when dealing with the problems of others. This job requires a balance of skills including attention to detail, root cause analysis, customer service, and relationship building. Candidate's ability to quickly adapt through use of leadership, communication skills, and responsiveness are paramount to the success of our teamThis role will be performed ONSITE at our Collins Aerospace location in Cedar Rapids, IAPrimary Responsibilities:
Provide technical interpretation of drawings and specifications for complex RF productRecommend solid engineering solutions for design tolerance problems and coordinates implementation with Program Office and Design EngineeringEvaluate and approves test plans and test equipment designs. Selects and orders capital test equipment using sound cost/payback analysisProvide capacity planning and utilization analysis for accurate staffing and test equipment needs. Identify new test approaches that will reduce staffing and capital requirementsEliminate/reduce test defects and improve test yields. Perform root cause analysis and take corrective action to resolve test failuresExtensive use and application of standard engineering and manufacturing principles and processesDevelop solutions to difficult technical problems of broad scope with little to no guidance from project managersDevelop, implement, and maintain test methods and processes in the manufacture and test of complex RF circuit card and sub-assembly designsProvide in-depth technical assistance and training support to floor test techniciansMaintain test documentation in current configuration and oversees accurate change management procedures for all test documents. Resolves conflicts in documentation and process definitionDevelops complete knowledge of test systems and hardwareRecommend and/or lead producibility projects to reduce support costsAnalyze test data using statistical process control analysis skills to proactively reduce test flow inhibitorsAnalyze test approach, plans, and processes for cost reduction opportunitiesRole will be performed between 12 pm to 8 pm Monday through FridayQualifications/Experience Needed:Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experienceThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is requiredU.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearanceMust have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirementsPreferred Qualifications:
