Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior System Implementation Engineer to join our Airports Team, based in Japan. We are seeking an enthusiastic team player with excellent communication skills and a strong focus on customer service who will have the following primary responsibilities, but not limited to:Responsibilities
Deploy full spectrum of Collins Aerospace Airports common use systems and products - at some of the worlds' most prestigious airports within Asia Pacific.Install, update, and test new and existing airline and airport applications, configure common use workstations and peripherals. Install third party software products and integrate them into Collins Aerospace's Airports common use and system integration products.Participate in deployment activities required for airports in APAC - Travel to customer sites, perform site surveys, interface with local technical personnel, and perform installation activities. Also assist in other critical projects at other airports within North America, EMEA regions and travel to other sites if and when necessary.Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.Provide best practices for day to day operations, performance analysis, tuning and capacity planning for products deployed and suggest and implement performance improvements when necessary.Frequently interact with customers and coordinate with Airlines and Airport Authorities at airports regarding technical requirements, configurations and testing of airline and airport applications. Commission and hand over systems components and enhancements to customer representatives.Closely liaisons with the project management organization, account management, customer support and sales team for technical exchange of information and planning of operations.Work with 1st and 2nd level technical support and development teams and other cross departments to assist resolving engineering issues/problems. Actively addresses performance issues and risks. Interface with on-site maintenance personnel, provide 3nd level supports where needed in order to meet the Service Level Agreements (SLA).Skills and requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related technical degree.At least 5 years as a system engineer at an Enterprise IT company or managed services organizationMinimum 5 years of hands on experience in implementation and troubleshooting of enterprise networksIn-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)Experience in the installation, configuration of Cisco routers, switches, ASA routers.Have knowledge in cloud types and cloud service models.Have knowledge and experience in virtualization, containerization technologies such as Dockers, Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes, etc.Experience in dealing with cloud service providers in AWS (amazon web services), Microsoft Azure, Google CloudExperience on implementation, administration and troubleshooting virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Oracle VirtualBox)Experience on implementation, administration and troubleshooting Microsoft Window Servers.Travel required (30-50%)RTX is An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
