WCVB is seeking a self-motivated, innovative, creative, and thoughtful Special Projects Editor to join the investigative and specials unit at NewsCenter 5/Boston's News Leader. The editor is expected to work collaboratively with the investigative team and special projects unit, which collectively produces a high volume of stories, including investigative reports, consumer, and health franchises, recurring weekly series, and long-form special programs. The ideal candidate is a visual producer who will be tasked with working independently on creating motion/animation effects and collaborating with producers, photographers, and graphic artists to deliver the most dynamic and compelling product in the market. That includes helping to advance the look and feel of our content, adding the special editing and production touches that elevate the storytelling while staying true to the WCVB brand.
Candidates for this position will be collaborative, visually creative, and able to adapt to ever-changing technology; able to capitalize on material from multi-camera shoots including DSLR cameras, iPhones, GoPro video and various other formats; proficient in editing and effects with Adobe Premiere and other Adobe tools including After Effects and Photoshop. The top candidate needs exceptional time-management skills and ability to meet multiple project deadlines; must be an effective communicator who is extremely organized and excited by new storytelling methods and platforms.
Experience Requirements:
Experience with Adobe Premiere, other Adobe tools, and ENPS is preferred Related military experience will be considered.Education:
College degree in broadcast journalism, broadcast news, or related field preferred Equivalent military training from Defense Information School (DINFOS) and associated experience will be considered.Diversity Statement
