SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:To plan, organize and implement an excellinglearning environment that guides and encourages students to meet theireducational potential. At FUSD, teaching and learning is centered onstudents diverse needs while ensuring a high level of studentachievement. In our classrooms, diversity is understood, appreciated,and leveraged as an asset. We work collaboratively as teams to planinstruction that ensures vertical and horizontal alignment.Demonstration of commitment to learning, a growth mindset, and embracinga culture of innovation is expected.\ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible forscheduling, planning, and implementing instruction for students withdisabilities, in conjunction with the general education classroomteacher. Other responsibilities include: monitoring student progress,writing IEPs, and scheduling and training of paraprofessionals. CrisisPrevention Intervention (CPI) may be required, depending on the site andstudent population, designed to provide specialized instruction andbehavior interventions in a structured environment. Changing diapers andtransferring students in and out of wheelchairs may also be required.
