Software/Systems Engineer (Project Lead)
Position Description
This position offers the opportunity to help shape the future of Army Aviation through test and evaluation of cutting-edge technologies and procedures in the helicopter cockpit.
Your future duties and responsibilities
-Responsible for daily operations and coordination for usage of the DSIL within UHPO and outside organizations and civilian contractor companies
-Schedule test programs in conjunction with other SIL Managers to ensure schedule deconfliction and proper SIL usage as per test requirements (i.e. the right tool for the job)
-Provide operational, tactical, and pilot knowledge/experience during test programs and SIL operations.
-Interact with CABAIL personnel and leadership on a daily basis to ensure schedule coordination with UHPO and organizations utilizing the device for testing
-Work with CABAIL to design, develop, and implement tactically relevant test programs for the combined mission test programs utilizing all available SILs in the CABAIL Facility (UH-60, CH-47, AH-64, 2x UAS platforms).
-Develop maintenance, upgrades, and improvement schedules, timelines, and cost analysis for the DSIL to ensure it remains current, relevant, and viable with the Black Hawk fleet configurations.
-Work with UHPO Tech Management Division (TMD) leadership on best use of DSIL with regard to other devices in the Test Asset Portfolio
-Interact with personnel and leadership from the Blackhawk Aircrew Trainer (BAT) Program to ensure DSIL is maintained and updated in concurrence with the fielded BAT fleet.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- SECRET security clearance; US Citizenship required by contract
- 10+ Years of Directly Relatable Experience
- Current or former helicopter and/or aircraft pilot
- Helicopter/Aircraft "Glass Cockpit" Experience
- Software/Systems Engineering Experience
- Project Management Experience
- Demonstrated effective project management leadership or multi-disciplined Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing
- Avionics hardware and/or software experience
Familiarity with:
-Integrated Master Schedules (IMS)
-Documenting, analyzing, and tracking project metrics to include cost, schedule, performance, and risk
-Engineering Technical knowledge and experience
-Preparing and briefing presentations, training materials, white papers, etc.
-Participation in IPTs for client efforts
-Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
-Systems Engineering processes
-DO-178 design and development processes
-Contract documents such as Statements of Work (SOWs), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), and Document Summary Lists (DSLs)

Team Oriented with the ability to lead a team of multi-disciplined individuals from broad backgrounds/experience
H-60M Experience
M.S. in Business Management or Project Management
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Knowledge of DoD Acquisition Framework and procedures
Due to the nature of the government contracts this position requires US Citizenship.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $70,000 to $145,000.
