Work you'll do
The Software Test Manager will lead and manage our software testing team. You will have a strong background in software testing methodologies, exceptional leadership abilities, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software products. As a Software Test Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire testing process, ensuring the team's efficiency, and collaborating closely with various stakeholders to guarantee product excellence.
Primary Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of software testers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure their professional growth and effective performance.
Test Strategy Development: Create, implement, and continuously improve test strategies, methodologies, and processes to achieve optimal test coverage and product quality.
Project Planning and Execution: Collaborate with project managers, development teams, and other stakeholders to plan test schedules, resources, and deliverables. Ensure timely and efficient execution of testing phases within project timelines.
Quality Assurance Oversight: Oversee all aspects of quality assurance, including test planning, test case development, execution, and defect tracking. Ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks in the testing process and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project impacts.
Tool and Technology Evaluation: Research, evaluate, and implement testing tools and technologies to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
Reporting and Documentation: Generate comprehensive reports on testing progress, issues, and results. Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, and test results for future reference.
Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on testing goals, priorities, and outcomes.

Qualifications
Required:
5+ years of experience within the past 10 years as Test Manager or Lead on projects involving large and complex IT systems in a Health and Human Services or Health Care Services project
5+ years of experience planning, preparing for, and executing system test, UAT, and/or regression tests in compliance with a recognized standard, such as IEEE or ISO
5+ years of experience with testing JAVA web-based applications, the CalSAWS Software interaction with Oracle databases, web services, and/or cloud services
3+ years of experience overseeing or testing applications with multiple stakeholders/customers with varied business priorities and varying levels of experience with automation systems
3+ years of experience testing in waterfall, agile and iterative SDLC models and mixed models (i.e., multiple SDLCs occurring concurrently)
8+ years of experience with software testing, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial or leadership role
3+ years of experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and familiarity with test management tools
3+ years of experience with software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices
Bachelor's degree
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
Preferred:
Certification in software testing (ISTQB, CSTE, etc.)
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members
Experience with test automation frameworks and tools
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $110,000 to $184,000.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
