You'll be working on the development, implementation, test engineering and quality assurance of cutting-edge imaging/video processing algorithms, Dolby Vision and related technologies. Mentored by our experienced senior engineers, your work will contribute to our overall product and technology roadmap.
Responsibilities:
• Perform software development, create test setups/experiments related to various mobile platforms or other consumer electronic devices.
• Partner with technical writers to provide and review technical data relating to test suite going into technical publication
• Design, develop and execute test cases targeted to test a variety of cutting-edge Dolby Imaging/Video algorithms and software.
• Test and evaluate the Dolby Vision video processing technologies and new features with respect to reliability, accuracy and usability.
• Provide feedback on specific features and record all bugs and issues encountered during testing.
• Maintain and enhance the test-setup including hardware, software and Test Automation environments.
• Help define best practices for source control, continuous integration, automated testing and release management.
• Create tools for internal use to support software engineering best practices
• Produce and maintain useful and usable documentation of work
Qualifications:
• Completed or Working towards Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering with an emphasis and passion for multimedia technologies and 1+ years of experience in professional imaging and or system and application engineering.
• Hands-on experience working with Python (Must have), MATLAB (Good to have)
• Experience with at least one automation testing frameworks, such as Pytest, Selenium, Appium, on one of the operating systems such as Windows, Linux, Android, and iOS.
• Comfortable with fast-paced scrum agile development cycle, multiple projects parallel working environment, willing to shift project priority and commitment.
• Experience with source control tools: Perforce, Git, etc.
• Experience in various media frameworks, e.g. Android, Microsoft, Linux and other leading Operating systems video codecs, and compression standards such as H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC is a plus.
• Experience working with streaming technologies and protocols including HLS, MPEG-DASH, Smooth Streaming, Play Ready, MP4 containers and Transport stream containers.
• Ability to troubleshoot applications, hardware-software interactions, OS and related issues.
• Software development/testing experience on popular embedded system platforms (such as Raspberry Pi and Arduino) is a plus.
• Testing experience on Android platform is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Results-oriented with a passion to learn new technologies. Self-motivated quick learner who works well with others.

ELIGIBILITY
Working towards a Bachelor's degree in CS; recent grads who are within 6 months of graduation are also eligible to apply. Must be available to work full-time Monday-Friday for 6 months starting from May/June 2024.

The San Francisco/Bay Area base hourly range for this internship position is $45-50/hr and can vary if outside of this location. Our hourly ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
