We are looking for a Software Engineer – Mendix IT Operations
You’ll make a difference by:
The Siemens Mobility IT DevOps Center is responsible to provide professional application services to our users of Siemens Mobility worldwide. We support our business units by handling the services for different web applications, both internally and externally hosted (Software as a Service).
Your task is to support the continuous service for a set of different Mendix applications. This includes solving customer issues, directly connect with the user community as well as enhancing the existing services by collecting and refining requirements. Continuous monitoring of processes, fast intervention and a high awareness of all current issues are key elements of successful operation and high user satisfaction.
Your new role – challenging and future-oriented
As part of our ITIL based service team, you will be responsible for the operation of our IT led Mendix applications.
Acting as a point of contact to support business users and customers reporting issues/bugs as incidents using standard Service Now Platform.
You will enhance existing applications as part of Change Requests from our Business.
You will create and track tickets to our infrastructure provider (Mendix).
You will perform bug correction by reviewing code and performing root cause analysis.
You regularly monitor the application health and proactively prevent performance and system outages to ensure high availability.
You will ensure to have a secure application environment by complying to the Siemens Security Standards.
You will create and maintain the service documentation and regularly update the knowledge base.
Optionally, you will support our Mendix DevOps Team by performing design, development, and testing tasks.
You’ll win us over by:
The cornerstone of your professional success is a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, or a similar information technology – related field.
3 - 6 years of professional experience in software operations and development.
You have proven foundation on Mendix functionality and features.
Mendix Intermediate Certification is a must.
You have good knowledge on ITIL processes, especially Incident, Problem and Change Management.
You know how to analyze change requests and create specifications out of them.
You have good knowledge of Web front-end technology (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript or React).
You have experience with responsive web design, UI design patterns and usability.
You have exposure to common integration protocols (e.g., REST, SOAP, XML or HTTP)
Ability to work in diverse environments (multi-cultural/multi-geographically distributed teams).
You have basic knowledge in web security and cyber security.
Good experience on documenting and maintaining knowledge bases.
Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
Fluent knowledge of Business English (Level C1)
